THE GAMESLAVE SPECIAL - ANIMELAND WASABI PRESS CONFERENCE

Way back in February we attended Animeland Wasabi 2014. And they held a short press conference with Billy West, Cassandra Lee Morris and Emilie Ullerup. Here is the recording of that press conference. If you prefer the audio can be found here.

Animeland Wasabi is Coming

Animeland Wasabi is back, running from 2/28 - 3/2, and this year they have grown quite a bit. They have moved hotels to the Crowne Plaza at 1-70 and Chamber, which is actually the hotel they used several years ago when they were just starting out. This means that they have a much larger area to state things, and a hotel staff that is used to dealing with conventions of this magnitude. We can also expect an easier place to navigate along with, hopefully, more clearly labeled panel rooms.

Animeland Wasabi Special - David Vincent Interview

Now to compliment the David Vincent panel with an actual interview this time. David is a great guy and from Arvada, CO. Always nice to talk to a native.  I apologize for the audio in this, but the interview was too good to pass cause of some audio issues.

Animeland Wasabi Special - Jan Scott Frazier Interview

The first of two interviews we had at Animeland Wasabi. I present to you Jan Scott Frazier courtesy of LionHeartX.

Me: First off let me say thank you for sitting down for this interview. I have seen you around at NDK and got the chance to meet you a few times. I even purchased the Voices for Peace album Which was amazing to listen to.

Jan: Thank you

Me: The first thing I would like to find out is, what inspired the album?

Jan: Thats a funny question. Well my technical director John Sugarman has a cover band that said you should come up and do a song with us. And I didn’t sing or anything at the time. I love pondering things and I said if you could do a song with the band what song would you do. And I was like that is an interesting question. So I thought about that for some time, I got sick though, a really bad intestinal bug and went to the ER and they shot me full of morphine. I was listening to my MP3 play and the song for what it’s worth came on. and I thought maybe I should do a song like that that has some sort of meaning to it. Keep in mind this happened over the span of 5 seconds. We should do a song like this that is meaningful. It would be better if someone who could sing did a song like this, like Greg Eris for example. We could do a concert, we could do a charity concert, no we could do a charity album. The next day I called john and said dude I had this crazy dream. He goes thats an interesting idea, He called me back an hour later and said “you know that album idea, I have a band” I didn’t know what that meant at the time but I knew it meant work. And so 6 months later we dropped Voices for Peace

Animeland Wasabi Special - David Vincent Panel

David Vincent - Awesome Voice ActorSo I don't have a real podcast for you this week, but I have something better! I have a panel that David Vincent (Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez from Bleach, Van from Gun Sword, and Marshall Law from Tekken). The audio is not perfect (sorry), but it is not bad for the little voice recorder we had for the con. Look forward to things getting better in future conventions.

Plank & Zero - Preview

This year at Animeland Wasabi I had the fortune to run into Chad Hoover of Hoover Game Production. He is working in collaboration with Time Continuum Entertainment to try and redefine what it means to play an educational game. To this affect they have started the creation of Plank & Zero.
