Blizzard Supports "Make a Wish" with a Fel Kitten

Every so often (probably more than I think), Blizzard comes up with a new pet that they sell in order to benefit charities. And this year they have created a new being of pure evil and chaos to fill your stocking with, Mischief the Fel Kitten. Now normally I would have probably been pretty lazy and just let this pass without writing about it, again. But this year I really like the way they are doing it. First you have the digital version of Mischief, which is pretty normal. But now their is also a plush version. So you can pick one for your character or one for the stocking, or both. Just keep in mind you only have until the end of the year to snag one.

Ah, I also can't forget the wonderful video Blizzard made to push this little cat. It calls back to my child in a way I think many of you will recognize.

Christmas Gift Giving Ideas

Well, we only got 20 more days till Christmas and sometimes we all can just sort of hit our head against a wall for some Christmas gift ideas, so here's a couple ideas to get you started.  Hopefully I'll have more to come for you!

First off is World of Dice.  These guys usually do the convention circuit, so some of you out there might have seen their stuff.  Others of you maybe not, but they are really great people and have a lot of fun products.  They make jewelry and other fashion accessories out of dice.  They have close to 100 different colors, plus the different sided dice to make a wide range of choice selection.  I have mentioned before that I bought a scarlet d8 phone charm that's still going strong.  These item's a great if you're looking for a stocking stuffer or small gift to give your pen & paper player.

If playing dice is more what you're looking to get for someone, then I recommend you head over to the guys at Gamescience Dice.  They might seem a little shocking when it comes to the price of their sets, but I can say with experience that the dice they make are some of the nicest ones I have ever rolled.  These dice are not tumbled so they have really sharp angles, making for more even rolls.  You can also by sets that haven't had their numbers painted in and save a few bucks doing it your self.  All you need is a white crayon and some paper to polish up the edges. They also have a wide variety of colors.  I have a set of crystal blue and red myself.  If you have any doubts about these dice and their claims to more random rolls, then I recommend watching the Youtube videos located a bit lower on the front page.

Hopefully these sites give you a couple of ideas to get up and running and I'll be back with some more ideas!

Geeky Gift Giving Ideas

Well that cold nip is back in the air and as we head deeper into this winter season, we start thinking about what to get our more geeky friends and family for Christmas.  I know it's before Thanksgiving right now, but it doesn't hurt to think ahead and beat out some of the holiday rush with some gift giving ideas.  There's only 44 more days till Christmas, so it really isn't that far off.d8 Phone Charm from World of Dice

One gift giving recommendation I have are the interesting dice jewelry products found at World of Dice.  I recently got to meet the owners of this business at this past NDK convention.  I found the jewelry to be very well made with a wide range of colors and dice types.  You can get any of the 100 or so colors of Chessex dice in d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, or d20 die types in almost any of the jewelry products listed!  Talk about variety!

I made a purchase for myself of one of their phone charms.  The charm I picked was a scarlet d8, mostly because I like red and I often have characters that rely on the d8 for the majority of rolls.  As you can see by the picture, it's still going on strong nearly three months later.  I'm still very happy with my purchase as the price was very reasonable for the well made product and there is a lot of variation so everyone's can be a little different.  This would make a great stocking stuffer or group buying gift for your gaming table or general geek culture friends!
