The Professional Gamer - January 30, 2014

Hello again readers! I had about one week of normal workload, and now I suddenly have five projects to get through in the next four weeks.  I'll be doing some overtime to get it all done, but I this week at least I still had some time to myself.  Read on for my weekly recommendations.

Reading: This week I finished reading The Return of the King, so at least I seem to have accomplished something.  To replace that book, I've gone back to reading Overwhelmed: Work, Love, and Play When No One Has the Time by Brigid Shulte.  Longtime readers may recall that I started reading this previously, but, ironically, ran out of time to finish it.  I've already had to renew the book once, but this time I'm sure to get through it.

Finally, I've recently started reading another webcomic called Eve of All Saints by George Herman and Kit Seaton.  At this point, I'm still reading through the first book, but I'm enjoying it a lot.  Herman's writing and wordplay, along with Seaton's knack for illustrating visual humor and pratfalls, blend well in this comic.  Go have a read.

Watching:  This week has ended without me watching much interesting television.  Crystal and I have watched enough home improvement shows this past week to start giving us weird house anxiety dreams.  I did manage to watch a couple of episodes of Adventure Time Season 6, and I've got to say, things are getting weirder and weirder in that show.  Especially the episode "Food Chain".  I've only watched a few episodes, so I will reserve judgement on the season as a whole for a few more weeks.

Playing: Hyrule Warriors continues.  Crystal and I can finally claim 100% completion on the basic Adventure Map.  We only have three maps that we have to try again for "A" rank.  Now, we'll move onto playing through the rest of the Master Quest and Twilight maps.  I suppose we need to get our butts in gear; the next portion of DLC will be out next week.

That's all I have for this week.  We may be a little bit bare for the next few weeks here as I'll be doing some overtime, and I understand that Chris is hunting for a new residence.  We'll see you all again soon. Game on!
