Overwatch Annouced

For the first time in 17 years Blizzard announced their first actual new franchise, Overwatch. A game set 60 years in the future and 30 years after a robot uprising. When the robot uprising over whelmed individual government armies they formed the world wide peacekeeping force, Overwatch. Here is the trailer to set the stage.

Now about the game itself. Overwatch is going to be a team-based 6v6 first person shooter. Each of the 12 characters has their own special abilities and are split into one of four roles, offense, defense, tank, and support. While it initially looks like a TF2 clone, the fact that you can have a full game with each player have a different character.

Finally there are 2 game types that are planned so far. Payload where you need to move a payload to a delivery point and Point Capture where you need to capture points (both of those are pretty self explanatory). But the best thing about this is, beta is scheduled to hit in 2015. You can sign up for it at http://us.battle.net/overwatch/en/. Blizzard was nice enough to give us a full gameplay trailer introducing each character, what they can do, and then what actual gameplay looks like.

And a side note, am I the only one that doesn't believe that they "cancelled" Titan and then all of sudden announce an almost completed sci-fi-ish shooter with this level of completion?
Yeah, I didn't think so.
