Denver Pop Culture Con is This Week!
/The time has come. The geeks will once again gather at the Denver Convention Center and its halls will be filled with the creators and actors that make up our favorite comics, shows, movies and games. Denver Pop Culture Con (formally Denver Comic Con) is this weekend.
The folks at Denver Pop Culture Con (PPC) have created a great guide for getting in, so if you don’t feel prepared head over there and give it a read. Big thing to know versus last year is they have the front of the convention center back, so you can get in either at the big blue bear, at 13th and Welton, or at 12th and Welton.
Now that we have that out of the way, what is there to do. Well as someone who has played a number of their games, and may have sold his soul to them at one point, I want to visit at least one of the Blizzard panels. Local game developer Serenity Forge is back showcasing two games, “Half Past Fate” which is a rom-com in video game form. You follow 6 people who stumble through relationships that form in 8 hours or 8 years. The second game is “Once Upon a Coma”. This game is a psychological narrative adventure where “Upon waking from a coma, Pete's sister is nowhere to be found. Investigate the screams coming from the heart of Black Wood, the increasingly violent behavior of the grown-ups, and the strange truth about Pete's past in this hauntingly dreamlike fable”. You can find these over near the food court at booth #814.
As always there will more celebrities then you can shake a stick at. A few of the bigger names are Christopher Lloyd, Dave Bautista, George Takei (again, yay!), Sean Gunn, Tom Wilson, and Cary Elwes (Princess Bride). There are are many, many, MANY more that you can look up on the guests page if you have not already. It is a great cast this year.
Last thing, the schedule and the mobile app are up. So start planning the weekend and enjoy!
