The Professional Gamer - December 11, 2017

Hello, and welcome to the Professional Gamer, where I talk about how I try to have fun around my job and other "adult" obligations. This has been an extra busy week. I attended 3 days of training at work, which included a little bit of homework, and I had meeting (not work) on Tuesday evening. With those extra commitments this week, I've had very little time to dedicate to geek activities. The biggest challenge is that I've had only small pieces of time, rather than large blocks. I've kept up on the seasonal anime for this week; however, since we are drawing towards the end of the season, I'll refrain from spoilers. Food Wars has jumped the shark in terms of character design (though the story is still ok), and seeing the relationship progress in Recovery of an MMO Junkie has been very rewarding. The Ancient Magus' Bride continues to be a lovely fantasy story.

Much of the rest of my time has been spent playing Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. As I said previously, I've never been super into the Animal Crossing series. This simplified, mobile version of the game has engaged me, with is casual gameplay and fun characters. I've especially enjoyed it as a way to pass the time while riding the bus to and from work. I also find myself running around, collecting stuff for animals while I watch a little bit of TV or YouTube. I don't know if I'll be in it for the long haul, but at least it is the fun time waster for the Holiday season. If you want a good little game to reduce your stress during this busy season, I recommend Pocket Camp for its cute style and casual play.

That's all for this week. I hope you have more time to enjoy yourself than I have had recently. But, if you want more advice on how to spend your precious moments, come back here again. Have a great week and game on!
