The Professional Gamer - July 18, 2014

Hello everyone! This has been a great week for playing Diablo, but not so great for other things.  Read on to learn how I spent my week.

Reading: Sorry to disappoint everyone, but I decided to spend all my reading time this week with The Self-Sufficient Life and How to Live It by John Seymour.  Largely because I'm still in the middle of the growing season and want to better understand how to work my garden next year.  I have read a little bit of Me, Myself, and Why, and I greatly enjoyed the way Oullette (the author) explained how genetics and hereditary traits work.  As a person who has study no biology since High School, I felt that her explanation was both easy to understand and scientifically rigorous.

Watching: This week I watched Cowboy Bebop from beginning to end, and reaffirmed my judgement that it is probably the best anime series ever.  The characters, story, music, and animation are all so good.  The only thing that has not aged as well is the color quality on our DVD, but I understand that a remastered version has is in the works.  Hopefully we'll get this new version soon.

Playing: ZeldaQueen and I made a push this past week and finished Diablo 3.  I've got to say, I still not thrilled with the writing in the game, but the game is actually a lot of fun.  We are debating whether to purchase Reaper of Souls now, or play through the basic game on Expert first.  Either way, I think we will continue playing for a bit longer.  I also started a Civilization V game and advanced myself to the Industrial Era.  Then Germany decided to start the Hundred Years War or something.  Other than that, the game is going along pretty well.

That's all for this week.  I've gotta get on to my other side project: composing research articles.  Have a great week and Game On!
