The Professional Gamer - March 14, 2016

Hello friends! This weekend I've been at StarFest Denver (in general, ComicFest in particular).  I've spent most of my free time this week watching anime.  With a fair amount of time dedicated to running this week,  and trying to get ready for the convention this weekend, the anime was about all that I had time for.  Let's talk about the couple of shows that I've been watching.

The first if Snow White with the Red Hair.  As of this posting, I'm caught up with what has been released in the US (on Hulu at least) so far.  At this point, the major conflicts seem to have been resolved, and we are winding down the story.  Currently, I am of the feeling that this will be one of the few anime series that has good world-building and doesn't fall flat on its face when it comes to writing the story set in the world.  I'm excited to see the next thing that this creative group produces.

Since I have watched all the episodes of Snow White that are currently available to me, I decided start watching Your Lie in April at Crystal's request.  Having been to a few music video contests at the local conventions, I've been a bit hesitant to pick this series up, because I have this feeling that it might end up breaking my heart.  At this point, I'm a little less than halfway through the series, and my heart has not broken yet.  But there is some very intense pathos going on in this series.  So far, I've enjoyed that the show is largely about how the main characters all have a passion.  And, at least in the case of Kousei Arima, how tragic events can twist that passion into pain.

That's all I've got for this week.  Chris and I should each have a summary post about StarFest 2016 posted later this week, so keep an eye out for that.  Have a great week and game on!
