The Professional Gamer - April 26, 2019

Hi everyone! Back to back convention weekends sure take it out of me, but I’m back now to talk about what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks. I’ll have separate posts for the convention coverage coming out soon. For now, let’s talk a bit about the anime that I’ve found to watch in the past few weeks.

Colorado Anime Fest!

I’m at Colorado Anime Fest this weekend, so there’s no Professional Gamer post again this week. Hope you all have a great week, and look for posts about the convention coming soon.

The Professional Gamer - April 6, 2019

Gonna be a short article this week, cause I was out doing field work and only found one night this whole week to play a little bit of Starcraft II and then watched the finale of Mob Psycho 100. There isn’t anything really interesting to report about in Starcraft, so let’s go straight to Mob. Spoilers ahead. I’m going to be posting my thoughts on the whole series, and while I won’t be providing a plot synopsis, I will be discussing what happens.

Hello and welcome to a new installment of The Professional Gamer. I have some stories to tell for this week. I’ve had some issues with my knee while running, and went in for some physical therapy this week. In fact, I went in for two rounds of physical therapy, which honestly feels like it might have been too much. I think I’m seeing a little progress with my knee already though, which is super promising. But, with all the exercising that I’m doing along with the PT, I haven’t had as much time to geek out. So, let’s talk about the little bit that I have done.

Hello, and welcome again to The Professional Gamer, where I slack off so that you don’t have to. If you paid attention to the weather this week, you would know that there was a pretty significant snowstorm in Colorado. I ended up working from home on Wednesday, because I had absolutely no desire to get stranded at my office. With no commute time on Wednesday, I had a few extra minutes to relax. I ended up using about half of it for sleeping in (can you blame me), but I did find some time to do fun things as well. So, stick around and read a little bit about my adventures this week.

Ah, hello again! Welcome back to The Professional Gamer, where I spend some time every week talking about how I don’t have time to do anything fun anymore. And while that isn’t strictly true, I do have less time to enjoy myself than I did back in college. This leads me to look for the best ways to entertain myself during my limited free time. Read on to learn about my adventures for the week.

The Professional Gamer - March 4, 2019

Hello, friends! After a few weeks of either not having much time to enjoy myself, or just not having the energy to do much, I was able to have some fun this week. As is typical for yours truly, one of the things that I want to talk about is super new and shiny, and the other is a bit older. Also, I’d like to talk a bit about Mob Psycho 100, but given what happened last week, I’d like to wait a little longer before I start writing about it. Since I want to keep that more hush, let’s talk first about the old thing: a video game.

The Professional Gamer - February 25, 2019

Ah, hello there readers. I’ve had a low key week here, not doing a whole of geeky stuff. For one thing, I spent Thursday and Friday away from home, and wasn’t in the mood for anime on Monday when Mob Psycho 100 was released. All I really did was watch the last season of Legend of Korra and started reading through the Hoard of the Dragon Queen module for a D&D game that I’m planning. As I writing this article on Friday night, I’m looking forward to two D&D games this weekend. One, a homebrew campaign that is more on the silly and fun end of the spectrum. The second game is running the Curse of Stradh module. In both cases, I feel like I’ve finally learned who my characters are, and I have a much deeper attachment to them compared to earlier characters in other games.

Reggie is Retiring

You may have already heard this, but Reggie Fils-Aime is retiring as President of Nintendo of America in April. Reggie has been with Nintendo for 15 years, 12 of those as president, and is passing the torch to Doug Bowser (seriously). Here is his goodbye video:

And here is the gentleman that is going to step up and take the mantle from Reggie. With this Bowser finally gets control of the Mushroom Kingdom. May he be a benevolent ruler.
